    Not identify chips

      1.Chips couldn't be identified

      (1) How to know whether it needs chip identification or not

If the red ink lamp always keeps on, it may be seen by ink level observation of printer if chips shall be identified.

Specific method: -> Start ->Setup -> printer and fax -> right click printer selected -> First option for printing -> Maintenance -> status monitor.

 

 Click status monitor to examine if the chips are in good conditions.

 If status monitor appears grey, just go to the official website of EPSON to download the software for the corresponding model.

 

If it is borne out by examination that, every color of ink is displayed with balance color, it indicates that the chips are in good conditions.

If it is borne out by examination that, a certain color of ink is displayed with red “X”, it indicates that the chips are not identified.

If it is borne out by examination that all colors of ink are displayed in grey, it indicates that there is something wrong with the communications, please check the data line.

 (2) Resolution

    Method 1: Follow the step below.

  Enter into the option of “How”, follow the steps shown and do not take out the ink cartridge.

        Method 2: Restart printer

        Method 3: Replace the chips.

Removed the used chips and replace them with new chips.

Put the paper cutter into the nearby aperture to remove the chips.

 Note: Make sure not to touch the sheet metal on the chips with the cutter.

Exchange the new chips and heat with electric iron, melt two fixed points to secure them.

Note: Make sure to keep the glue away from the golden contact on the chips.
