    Operating principle of  CISS

EAGLEHC CISS utilizes two crucial principles: Syphonage principle and constant pressure principle.

 (1) Syphonage principle

The syphonage principle of CISS is the operating principle of printer sucks in ink via the ink cartridge and lines from the external ink container. One end of CISS is connected to the printing head, the other end of it is connected to the external ink container, except for the external ink container with a gas vent, the whole system keeps airproof. When printer is operating, at the same time of the ink from the ink cartridge is jetted out, the ink inside the external ink container is sucked into the ink cartridge.

 (2) Constant pressure principle

The so-called constant pressure means that the ink in the external ink container always keeps consistent pressure to printer jet head. The level changes observed by bare eyes are shown as below:

The level of higher bottle keeps dropping constantly as observed by bare eyes in the course of printing, while the level of lower bottle always keeps at the level of Point A. The pressure produced by the level of lower bottle is the pressure composed upon the printing head.

Strong points of keeping constant pressure:

A. Stable printing and avoid ink leakage.

B. Protection of printing head.

The most crucial part of EPSON printing head is the piezocrystal, which is very frail and apt to damage upon long-term instable pressure. The introduction of constant pressure style of external ink container will help to protect the printing head.

        The higher and lower bottles of CISS are connected via two gateways: One sidelong gateway and one horizontal gateway. The sidelong gateway is actually the gateway for air inlet during the course of printing.
